Which Magento versions does Hyvä support?

Hyvä supports Magento versions 2.4.4 and later. Each release line has a minimum security patch, such as 2.4.6-p7 for Magento 2.4.6. A store on 2.4.6-p3, for example, does not meet the minimum. You also need PHP 8.1 or newer, according to the Hyvä installation documentation.

Quick answer

The Hyvä Theme requires Magento 2.4.4-p9, 2.4.5-p8, 2.4.6-p7, 2.4.7-p1 or any later release. The theme runs on PHP 8.1 to 8.3, and on PHP 8.4 from Hyvä 1.3.14. Stores on Magento 2.4.0 to 2.4.3 can only use Hyvä releases older than 1.3.11, which lack CSP support. Features unique to Adobe Commerce, such as the B2B suite and Live Search, need the paid Hyvä Enterprise suite.

Node.js only runs the Tailwind CSS compiler. Hyvä recommends building the CSS bundle on development or staging, so your production server doesn’t need Node.js. The installation guide also states that Hyvä no longer supports PHP 7.4 as of 2026.

Current Magento versions such as 2.4.8 and 2.4.9 sit above Hyvä’s minimum patch levels. Hyvä Checkout has its own version requirements, though: support for 2.4.8 and PHP 8.4 arrived in Checkout 1.3.1.

Why does Hyvä need Magento versions 2.4.4 or later?

Hyvä 1.3.11 added a dependency on Magento’s CSP nonce provider. That provider first shipped in Magento 2.4.4, so older Magento versions can’t run Hyvä 1.3.11 or later.

Stuck on Magento 2.4.0 to 2.4.3 for now? Hyvä’s documentation says to stay on a release older than 1.3.11. That works as a stopgap. You lose CSP support and every fix since, including the PHP 8.4 support added in 1.3.13 and 1.3.14.

The Hyvä default theme repository lists Magento 2.4.0 as its overall floor. A Magento 2.3 store needs a platform upgrade before Hyvä is even possible.

Does Hyvä work on Adobe Commerce?

Yes, the standard Hyvä Theme works on Adobe Commerce and covers the Magento features it shares with Open Source. Features unique to Adobe Commerce need Hyvä Enterprise, a separate paid product. Hyvä Enterprise covers gift cards, loyalty points, the B2B suite, Live Search and Product Recommendations, per Hyvä’s July 2026 announcement. Stores that use any of these should scope Hyvä Enterprise from day one.

How do you check if your store meets Hyvä’s requirements?

Run bin/magento --version and php -v on the server. A store below Hyvä’s minimum Magento version or PHP 8.1 should finish that upgrade before Hyvä work starts.
