What is Hyvä Commerce, and how do the Hyvä products fit together?
Hyvä Commerce bundles Hyvä’s storefront, checkout and a handful of new merchant tools into one subscription. It reached general availability in July 2025, five years after Hyvä started as a single free theme. Four other Hyvä products still exist alongside it, and picking the right one comes down to which platform you run and how much you want under one license.
Quick answer: Hyvä Commerce costs €3,000 a year, about €250 a month, and bundles Hyvä Theme, Hyvä Checkout, Hyvä UI, Hyvä CMS, an Admin Dashboard, an Image Editor and Media Optimisation into one license for a single Magento Open Source installation, with unlimited storeviews and domains. Hyvä Theme itself has been free and open source since November 2025. Hyvä UI and Hyvä Checkout still sell as separate paid products if you don’t want the full bundle. Adobe Commerce runs on Hyvä Enterprise instead, since Hyvä Commerce doesn’t work on that platform.
What Hyvä Commerce Actually Includes
The bundle covers seven pieces. Hyvä Theme is still the Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js frontend that replaces Luma, and Hyvä Checkout is the Magewire-based checkout that ships with it. The newer additions are what actually justify calling this a suite rather than Theme plus Checkout with a new label: Hyvä CMS, a visual page builder with live preview, an Admin Dashboard with configurable metric widgets, an Image Editor and Media Optimisation for handling assets without a third-party tool, and a refreshed Admin Theme for the Magento back office.
Buying Hyvä Theme, Checkout and UI separately costs more per year than the €3,000 Commerce bundle once renewals are counted, so Commerce is the better deal only if you were already planning to buy more than one of them. If you only ever wanted the free Theme, Commerce is not worth it. You’d be paying €3,000 a year for a CMS and admin dashboard you may never touch.
The license is flat: €3,000 per year per Magento installation, no setup fees, no usage-based charges. A five-year license locks that price in if you’d rather not deal with renewals.
How the Full Hyvä Product Lineup Fits Together
Five products carry the Hyvä name today, and they are not interchangeable:

If you’re already on Adobe Commerce, skip the Commerce-versus-Theme debate entirely. Only Enterprise runs on that platform.
Hyvä Commerce vs Hyvä Enterprise: Which One Do You Need
Hyvä Commerce only runs on Magento Open Source and Mage-OS. Adobe Commerce requires Hyvä Enterprise instead, there is no version of Hyvä Commerce built for Adobe Commerce, so this isn’t a feature comparison so much as your platform deciding it for you.
Enterprise carries the same Theme, Checkout, UI, CMS and admin tools as Commerce, plus support for Adobe’s B2B Suite (company accounts, shared catalogs, requisition lists, approval workflows) and Adobe Sensei features like Live Search and Product Recommendations. If you’re on Adobe Commerce and someone tries to sell you Hyvä Commerce instead of Hyvä Enterprise, double-check that before you buy.
What This Means for Your Magento Store
Start with the free Hyvä Theme if speed is the only problem you’re solving. Move to Hyvä Commerce once you’re also fighting with Page Builder, want a real admin dashboard, or you’re already juggling separate Theme, Checkout and UI renewals and would rather pay one bill. Adobe Commerce merchants skip straight to Enterprise, full stop.
The license fee is almost never what makes or breaks this decision. Extension compatibility and the cost of rebuilding the storefront usually dwarf it, and that’s the number worth getting a real quote on before committing to anything.
